Goodman's American Pie

Wood Fired Pizza!

Ever wake up one day & realize that you wanted to do something 'different'? Well, that is what started all of what you see today at Goodman's American Pie. This pizza business started with a true devotion to pizzas, parties, and a desire not to be a 'cog in the wheel of life'. First, we built a small test oven at a house we were renting in Mount Holly, VT. We would supply the dough, sauce and beverages & it was our friends that brought over all of the wacky toppings that eventually formed our 'Specials' menu we have today!

The counter of our pizza shop is a '63 Volkswagen Microbus, saved from a junkyard in Santa Barbara, CA. Craig brought it to Vermont on a flat bed truck, chopped into about eight pieces, and fit it in here through the windows of the restaurant. All of the fabrication of the van (which is our current counter) and the seating areas was done on site. This is "recycling" on a very large scale, no?

Our old building was once a church, then a print shop. The print shop burned to the ground, & eventually, the church closed & re-opened as a movie theater. The theater had a good run & then the building sat unoccupied for about 20 years. Then it housed a non-profit teen center & our old snazzy pizza shop!
